Masuk ke fakultas kedokteran, lulus S1, masuk ke dunia perkoasan, lulus koas, belajar mati-matian untuk UKDI dan OSCE nasional, lulus menjadi dokter, internship satu tahun, menjadi dokter umum, PPDS, menjadi dokter spesialis, dan seterusnya. Pertanyaanya, siapa sih yang kepikiran S2 setelah lulus kedokteran?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Memang sudah terdoktrin sejak lama bahwa jalan kedokteran itu linear. Masuk FK, lulus menjadi dokter. Mau lanjut? Jadilah dokter spesialis dan seterusnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namun, lihatlah sekeliling Anda sekarang. Sudah seberapa banyak dokter yang tidak hanya lagi menjadi dokter? Ada yang menjadi entrepreneur, ada yang menjadi youtuber atau menjadi direktur rumah sakit. Disini, gue ingin membahas alternatif lain yang bisa kalian ambil dalam menempuh pendidikan lebih lanjut: S2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebelum itu, perlu diingat bahwa spesialis bukanlah S2<\/a>. Pendidikan dokter spesialis di Indonesia merupakan lanjutan dari dokter umum namun tidak diakui sebagai S2 di Indonesia. Maka dari itu, pendidikan dokter spesialis di Indonesia digabungkan dengan pendidikan Magister yang dapat membuat lulusan dokter spesialis menyandang gelar S2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Terdapat banyak jurusan S2 yang dapat ditempuh seperti magister hukum, magister administrasi rumah sakit, magister kesehatan, magister biomed, magister manajemen, dan masih banyak lagi. Universitas yang dipilih pun dapat disesuaikan dengan lokasi dan jadwal kalian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lalu, mengapa mengambil S2 setelah lulus kedokteran?<\/p>\n\n\n\n[embedyt] https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mJbNCQSjBZ4[\/embedyt]\n\n\n\n

Yang pertama, bagi kalian yang tidak ingin melanjutkan untuk menjadi dokter sebagai karir namun masih bingung mau menjadi apa, kalian dapat meng-consider untuk mengambil S2. Perlu ditekankan terlebih dahulu bagian \u201cconsider\u201d karena bukan berarti S2 ini adalah solusi untuk semua permasalahan kalian. Jangan lupa, biaya kuliah S2 juga mahal, belum menghitung biaya S1 kalian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Namun, bagi kalian yang tidak melihat karir kalian di dunia kedokteran (yang sebenarnya cukup banyak), kalian dapat mencari tahu terlebih dahulu apa yang kalian inginkan dalam hidup. Apabila jawabannya terdapat di salah satu kuliah S2, then why not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contohnya adalah gue sendiri. Gua merupakan salah satu makhluk yang pasti akan mengambil dunia medis (kecuali ada aral melintang), namun gue juga tertarik dalam ilmu magister administrasi rumah sakit (MARS). But more on that in the next article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hal ini penting juga bagi kalian-kalian yang tidak mempunyai skill set atau pengetahuan tertentu di luar kedokteran. Walau sekali lagi S2 bukan merupakan satu-satunya jawaban (Also, more on that on the next article), terkadang beberapa pekerjaan membutuhkan gelar tertentu. Seperti menjadi manajer rumah sakit memerlukan titel MARS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alasan yang kedua adalah banyak sekali ilmu yang dapat kalian dapatkan selain mempelajari dunia kedokteran saja. Admit it, bagi kita yang selalu terkurung di dunia kedokteran, dunia lain merupakan dunia yang sangat baru. Saking barunya, kita biasanya akan menghindari untuk bahkan membahas tema tersebut, let alone untuk mempelajarinya. Sehingga, bagi kalian yang tertarik untuk mempelajari banyak hal-hal baru (once again, dengan segala kondisi keuangan dan waktu terpenuhi), tidak ada salahnya bagi kalian untuk mempelajari hal-hal tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yang terakhir adalah membuka jalur karir kalian. Yep, as much as I detest going to school just for the degree, sekali lagi perlu ditekankan bahwa HR bahkan tidak akan melirik CV kita apabila kita tidak memiliki kualifikasi yang cukup. Terutama, apabila kita hanyalah seorang \u201cdokter\u201d. Yep, flash news, gelar dokter tidak akan dilirik dimanapun kecuali di rumah sakit. Sehingga, bagi kalian yang ingin keluar dari dunia klinis, kalian perlu mencari suatu bidang lainnya yang kalian ingin dalami.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
